Is Astora's straight sword good? ›

It's an excellent starting weapon for players focusing on Faith builds, as it can be obtained immediately upon arrival at Firelink Shrine if you have the Master Key. Alternatively, it can also be acquired by defeating the Undead Dragon in the Valley of the Drakes.

1 Ringed Knight Straight Sword

As arguably the most powerful Straight Sword in Dark Souls 3, it makes sense that the aptly named Ringed Knight Straight Sword can only be found in The Ringed City DLC. With the longest reach out of all Straight Swords, it is ideal for out-spacing foes.

Characteristics. Although it has a minimum requirement in Faith in order to be used effectively, the Astora Straight Sword does not scale with Faith (unless it is infused down the Blessed/Lightning path), nor is it innately-blessed (unlike Anri's Straight Sword).
